Claire Sweeney
Board Development Lead, NHS Education Scotland and Associate with The Promise
Claire is the Board Development Lead at NHS Education for Scotland, leading the induction, development and training of NHS Non-Executives, Chairs and NHS Boards across Scotland. Claire also works as an Associate with The Promise Scotland, leading on governance and investment.
Claire was a member of the National Suicide Prevention Leadership Group and the National Taskforce for Human Rights. She has worked in the public sector for over 20 years, including at Public Health Scotland where she was the Director for Place and Wellbeing, and at Audit Scotland, where she was responsible for reporting on all aspects of public life in Scotland and the use of public money– including the transformation of health and social care, and the performance of health boards, local authorities and the Scottish Government.
Claire is originally from the north east of England, has two children and lives in Edinburgh.
